Optometrist

Dr. Patel discovered her passion for optometry at a young age as she needed vision correction for almost her entire life. She completed her undergraduate degree at Rutgers University and moved to New York City in pursuit of her doctoral degree from SUNY College of Optometry. She graduated at the top of her class at SUNY, where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. She is skilled in practicing medical optometry to treat and manage ocular disease, fit specialty contact lenses, and co-manage patients with other medical professionals.

Dr. Patel is extremely passionate about her quality of care. She finds it truly amazing how something as simple as providing a comprehensive eye exam can improve the overall quality of life for her patients. She is proud of the role she gets to play in providing care for such a fundamental part of peoples’ everyday lives, their vision.
 

Some of her passions outside of patient care include traveling, photography, and spending time with her friends and family.

Optometrist

Dr. Natan Dorfman is a leading optometrist providing high-quality eye care to New York City patients at Eye and Health, located in the East Village. His patients benefit from his expertise in providing comprehensive eye exams, fittings for eyeglasses and contact lenses, diagnosis of eye disease and eye infections.

Dr. Dorfman was born in the former Soviet Union's Republic of Ukraine. In 1991, he along with his family moved to the United States. From 1992-1995, he attended Brooklyn College majoring in chemistry. He is a graduate of SUNY College of Optometry (class of 1999) and completed a Low Vision Residency at Lighthouse International (2000). Dr. Dorfman has been practicing Optometry since 1999 splitting time between his three practices located in East Village and Tribeca areas of Downtown NYC.
 

Dr. Dorfman is dedicated to providing the best possible care to his patients and uses his expertise to ensure their eye health and vision solutions. In his spare time, he enjoys various sports and outdoor activities, traveling as well as spending time with his family and friends.

Maja Krsmanovic is a compassionate and diligent eye care provider, and her goal is to deliver the highest standard of care to all patients. Dr. Krsmanovic received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Hispanic Studies at Boston College. After working in cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Dr. Krsmanovic then obtained a Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. Dr. Krsmanovic currently practices at Eye & Health treating a variety of ocular diseases in addition to providing routine eye exams and contact lens fittings to patients ranging in age from toddlers to the elderly. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association. Dr. Krsmanovic is fluent in Serbo-Croatian and Spanish and is currently learning Italian.

Dr. Andrea Friedman received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. She is also a proud alumnus of the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), where she graduated with Honors, and received her BS in Biology with a minor in Anthropology.

Dr. Friedman was trained in a variety of clinical settings. She remains active in volunteer mission work and has done trips to Mexico, Ecuador, Panama and Vietnam. She practices full scope primary care optometry, with an emphasis on contact lenses, dry eye, and ocular disease.

In her spare time, she enjoys soccer, running, cooking, and traveling.
